Enterprise and Beryl Junction
Join us for our Winter Raptor Run as we explore the agricultural fields near Enterprise and Beryl Junction. Expected species include Bald and Golden Eagles, Ferruginous, Rough-legged, and Red-tailed Hawks, plus Prairie and Peregrine Falcons. Other raptor species include Kestrels, Merlins, Cooper's and Sharp-shinned Hawks. We even saw both Northern and Loggerhead Shrike last year (raptors??).
Meeting Place: 9:00am at the Sinclair Gas Station in Enterprise. 855 E Main St, Enterprise, UT 84725 at the intersection of US-18 and Main Street. Those coming from the Saint George area can meet for carpooling at 8:00am at the BLM field offices off Riverside Drive (345 E Riverside Dr, St. George).
Details: We will be caravanning along the many country roads in the area. Many of these roads may be gravel, wet, and dirty. While a 4-wheel drive is not required, plan on your car getting dirty/muddy. We will join up in carpools as best as possible at the meeting location. Dress warm as temperatures will start out below freezing. Sturdy footwear that can get muddy is highly recommended as we will be making frequent stops along the sides of roads to scan fields and view birds. Bring a scope if you have one. All are welcome.
