On 4 May, will you join more than 30,000 others and become a part of the Global Big Day? The Red Cliffs Audubon wants to support this global effort by doing what we are calling a county blitz to determine how many species we can find in a county in a 24-hour period. This year we will focus on Washington County. We want to highlight the incredible diversity of bird species in this county to showcase another reason why our area is such a great place to live.
You don’t have to commit to birding for 24 hours—an hour or even 10 minutes of watching birds makes you part of the team. Visit your favorite spot or search out someplace new; enjoy a solo walk or get some friends to join in the blitz. We want to make sure we have as much of the habitat in the county covered so additional plans will be coming out in upcoming email newsletters. Feel free to email us at RedCliffsAudubon@gmail.com for more information. For information on the Global Bid Day, visit the eBird website.
