Quail Creek Reservoir

With the strong storm we had this past week it will be good opportunity to find some lost birds seeking shelter at Quail Creek Reservoir. Recent sightings at this location include a Pacific Loon and an Iceland Gull. As time permits, we will visit other nearby locations to look for more wintering birds. Note: There will be no field trip in December so we can focus on supporting the Christmas Bird Counts.

Meeting Place: Meet at the parking lot behind the DWR offices at 9:00am. Address is 451 SR 318 (5300 West) in Hurricane (near the Dam)

Special Instructions: We will be setting up spotting scopes to search for wintering water fowl starting at the dam and then working towards the upper end of the lake.
